James David Maslow is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, Model, Actor and producer.[1] He is best known for portraying James Diamond in the Nickelodeon television series Big time Rush and being in the band of the same name.
2013 YouTube collaboration
On March 29, 2013, James posted a video explaining that since he was new to YouTube, he thought it would be cool to work with other YouTube users. He asked the fans to leave their suggestions in a comment.[2] On March 31, Christina tweeted: "YOU GUYS. Spam the crap out of this video and tell James Maslow to work [with] Cimorelli!!!!! :D" with a link to the March 29 video posted by James.[3] Also on March 31, the Cimorelli account tweeted: "GUYS! @jamesmaslow asked who he should work with on new YouTube videos! HMMMMMM Cimorelli?! Let him know ;D"[4]
On April 1, James tweeted: "@Cimorelliband seems to be a popular pic by my fans. I noticed they have done some BTR stuff as well...pretty rad girls."[5]
On April 5, 2013, James posted a video to his YouTube channel explaining the previous week he had said he would be checking out YouTube users to collaborate with and even took suggestions written in to him.[6] In the video, one of the first suggestions he received from a fan was Cimorelli. He responded he thought they seemed "dope" and that they got "bonus points" because they covered Windows Down.
He ended up working with MattyBRaps and Cimorelli. He and Matty wrote a song called Never Too Young. Matty said that he and James wanted to make a song that meant a lot to the both of them.[7] With Cimorelli, he covered the song Mirrors by Justin Timberlake.
